Role Breakdown

UI : During this role I learnt a lot about gating UI and about UI optimisation. I focused on creating the main menu, level select and settings screen as well as the transitions and animations between these. This included working closely with artists, animators and designers as the UI included aspects from all. This role required implementation of UX, typography and spatial UI.

Scripting (Blueprint): This project was one of my greatest leaps in knowledge due to the amount I learnt from my technical lead and peers from working in a team. I created the mask mechanics as well as a number of puzzle mechanics and designer tools. It helped me learn better scripting practices as well as make me faster at scripting while working in a team. Creating tools really inspired me for my future projects and how to optimise them for myself and others, as well as looking at technical design as a role.

Jira: For this project I used Jira along with my team to help with project management. This was my first time using Jira and my role included setting, assigning and completing tasks with evidence as well as having a discussion with team members about progress & improvements.

Source Control: This was also my first project for learning source control. After a number of teething issues I started to get a grip of it and through communication and Jira managed to work efficiently with my team to complete our goals.
